And the owner of this awesome graphic is.... Vinko!!! He's put a lot of work in, and he thoroughly deserves the prizes. When he sent this in, he also lamented on how much he misses BPL.... apparently its crap ultimate in sydney :)

Will all (new) Club shirts from next season have to have the BPL logo on them (like the NRL, AFL, etc)? That would be cool.

ReplyDeleteNow that this logo is the one, (well done Vinko), just one thing to consider with regard to the Wheel at the centre of the graphic. I believe it may not be a permanent fixture/installation, and from a small bit of googling just now, wikipedia says it indeed, may be coming down/finishing this year. anyhoo, just a heads up - cheers, T Ross

ReplyDeleteI also like the idea of not allowing anonymous comments. Some people (like Tony up there) put their names to it, but some people use it to put forward controversial thoughts and stir people up without putting their name to it.
I also think Jangles' suggestion would be good - I think the wheel is too ambiguous (people could think London Eye)

My first thought when viewing the logos was that the foreground of Logo 2 would be good with the Mt Cootha background of Logo 1. Just my opinion.
Well done and thanks Vinko. That is some nice work. I would suggest that it makes a lot of sense for us to work with Vinko to tweak the final logo if we feel it needs tweaking. The whole tagline thing was never really resolved properly and the addition of a tagline might be one of those tweaks. Along with any other design modifications.

Hey boys, you're all welcome and I am glad to have had the privilege to make something cool for this awesome league. I hear all your comments about the wheel and have already worked with Ads on a Story Bridge version (was not easy).
ReplyDeleteI am keen to keep on this and help get it knocked into final shape. But be weary of too many tweaks, eventually it changes the whole. As far as tagline, I think there are plenty of words already, so my suggestion would be to place it in the scrolling banner if anywhere.
Perhaps the big word should be "Brisbane" and the small text "Ultimate Premier League". There needs to be more thought about what you actually call yourselves I guess...I've just talked myself into circles. Anyhow, cheers for voting and hope you enjoy what comes out of it.
