Hi guys, here it is, the freak'n awesome BPL Logo Competition. On the right hand side there is the LOGO COMP page, go check them out there. Logo's do not have names attached to them for a reason, I'll ask that anyone who does know a submissions owner not publish that online.
The voting is split between teams, online and wildcard votes (previous LD's and Mike). To be completely transparent, I've removed myself from both the voting and counting (put Salvatore Colangelo in charge), as I've put a submission in.
You've got till Sunday 6pm to vote online, use the poll to the right. Thanks to all the people who submitted a logo.
Have fun.

(as if you need) Reasons to Vote Moustache
ReplyDeleteSome will say that this logo is clearly a joke, unprofessional and not fitting for our league.
This logo has a dry, Cameron-esque humour about it. Our league is neither professional, nor a joke. We take it seriously,
but we do not take ourselves too seriously. There is an element of humour, banter, and heckling that underlies arguably Australia's most competitive mens league. The moustache humor stitches us together, symbolising the comradery that crosses enemy lines.
The beard is a symbol of rugged, wild, manliness - highly praised. The moustache, on the other hand, is a symbol of masculine refinement. At the BPL, we are continually trying to harness our masculine energy and release it purposefully. Many a man, or band of men have come to BPL with beard attitude, only to realise that their potential must be sharpened carefully, like a barber sharpens his straight blade or a French-speaking Italian may one day wax and curl his facial hair. Newcomers are encouraged but no doubt taunted, with comments akin to "Grow a goddamn moustache" laid upon under-performers, particularly online.
Our sport is not a professional sport. It is a unique, quirky, underground, self-refereed, spirited and wonderful game. This is even more the case in Australia, where most citizens have not heard of Ultimate. In Brisbane, even more so. The moustache logo is in the same league as Newcastles "Stop playing with your balls" slogan at NATIONALS!! Newcastle is a city that celebrates it's uniqueness whilst not taking itself too seriously (city sights include a phalic statue.. I argue that Brisbane has a bigger one). I think that Brisbane, and it's premier league should stop trying to be something that it's not and embrace the moustache!!
That said, who wants a moustache ride??
Well said sir.
DeletePS: But I still think the whole moustache thing is weird and unnatural. But its a free country ... vote however you want.
