They said it would never happen, and we're pleased to say they were wrong.
This week the BPL is traveling to the Gold Coast!!
That's right, all 6 teams, 3 fixtures to be held on the very lush grounds of Pizzey Park in Miami.
After deliberation and debate in seasons passed, this season the LD in collaboration with Mat Ryan and the Mayor have put their collective foot down to spread the footprint of the BPL to the GC.
The round has been advertised to the GC community, and to WAG's, friends and families of the Slamtown Flatball Club.
We are anticipating a fun filled evening with the usual elite level ultimate... but to add to it, a taste of the GC. And not in the white shoe wearing, bar glassing variety... but rather, the warm southern hospitality, that has put the GC on the map to tourists all over the world.
There will be a sausage sizzle for both players and spectators, and the bar will be open in the clubhouse.
Tunes will pump, and if you listen carefully enough, you'll hear the roar of crashing waves hitting the soft sandy shores in Miami beach.
Post game bevvies will be insisted upon (except for drivers) and the bar has been set for you Brisbanites to reach a 9 beer total to break the Slamtown return trip record.
If you've always wondered how the SFC crew got so tight so quick, well it's these road trips that provide all the camaraderie and cohesion.
So get your BPL team squeezed into a car or two, encourage all your freinds families, women and mates to come and support, and get down to the Gold Coast this Thurs May 10 to witness the BPL in the GC.
