Table, logo and rounds left

Hi all, had a bloody good time down on the GC, and by the looks of the guys chatting over beers and sausages everybody else enjoyed it as well.

Table updated (link on the right).

Reminder - one week to go on the logo comp! Get something in.

Rounds left...
Round 10: Cobras v Slamtown; Dojo v Heroes; Blitz v Bugs
Round 11: Blitz v Slamtown; Cobras v Dojo; Bugs v Heroes
Round 12: Slamtown v Dojo; Bugs v Cobras; Heroes v Blitz

Holy crap! If the stronger teams all win over the lower teams, in the last round we'll see the battle for 1st and the battle for 4th spot to get into the finals!

Semi finals on the 7th of June, Final on the 14th.

  1. I hadn't looked at a schedule in a while and assumed that next week would be the last round robin fixture.
Seems odd to play everyone twice, and then the first to rounds of the schedule again.
Looks like Slamtown can take the minor premiership too.
    Excellent.

  2. Hey Ads,

I can't comment on the table page so I'll stick it here instead. Could you include the scores in the results please? Dojo beating buggers could have been 15-14 or 15-4.

It looks like the final positions could go down to goal difference but right now there's something wrong in the table as overall goal difference is -2 (Teams have collectively scored 625 goals but have been scored on 627 times)!

  3. The draw for the last 3 rounds seems odd to me. As Stef mentioned I had assumed the round robin would end after each team had 2 opportunities to play each opponent. The way the draw has worked out has left Heroes and Blitz with an obvious advantage given they play each other in what will, barring a couple of upsets, be the game-to-go to Finals. I could understand the Cobras feeling a bit hard done by. I suppose as in life, frisbee draws can not always be "fair", perhaps they will get the better draw next season. It certainly leaves the race for fourth open and if Cobras could get an upset in the next 2 weeks it would still be a 3 team race into the last week of round play. Very exciting stuff!

  4. Yeah, when that came about, I knew it would be a little unusual. Los bandidos dropped out a week out, and I decided that having two seasons a year, 10 rounds was not enough, and figured people would prefer more ultimate over a perfect draw. When I looked at it after it was set up, I laughed - slamtown v dojo the week before the semi final.. awesome. Although not perfect, I have to admit I like the fact that we'll see some playoffs in the last round... better than goal differences.

Stu, I'll look into the difference. Thanks.

  5. Sebastian, I disagree that frisbee draws cannot always be "fair". It's pretty easy to make a draw where everyone plays each other an equal number of times, and if teams miss out because they played the top teams more than they played the bottom teams that could have a huge impact on the final placings.
