Off season report - Week 5

It seems this week going back to work has done little to hamper the enthusiasm of all teams with reports delivered in record time.

UQ - BW

Work didn't hamper us with some of our members heading down to under 23 trials this week.  All members are developing nicely and we are looking forward to a big season ahead.

P.s. MVP

Cobras - Troy

So anyway as previously discussed there was a series of events.  The team was divided Reece, Dan1, Dave, Kiesy, Wetnose & Rony believed that he would be cool with it because he had his technology and general smarts anyway.  I still stand by the opinion held by myself, Dan2, Man Baby, Caleb, Finn and Guarin that he would be super pissed.  I mean if I had to listen to Leonardo's crap all the time and he was up there with two awesome swords and I had a stick and then Raph had two sais and even Michelangelo had two nun-chucks, I just know I'd be all like "Why can't one of you guys just give me one of your weapons that isn't just a stick.  Mostly I mean you Leo, I mean you have two swords, honestly who needs two swords?"  This type of argument when on for some time until suddenly Kiesy said that he hadn't expect the Spanish inquisition just because he though Donatello was smart enough to be ok with his weapon.  Then well lets just say a new door is required at that house and a man yelled that "Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition!" and we haven't seen Kiesy since.  Actually on that topic I have been meaning to put his picture on some milk bottles.  If anybody has spare time and could achieve this at say a Coles Supermarket where there is a lot of foot traffic that would be great.  I am mostly looking at uni students for this task but anybody would be fine.  We hope you are well Kiesy and that the Spanish aren't doing anything to untoward to you.  Now that I think about it, why didn't we just stop them from taking him, must have been a hot day.  So anyway due to the heat we continued on our merry way quite soon afterwards but a bet broke out that anyone could beat a person with a stick with any of those other weapons.  Turns out we don't own those other weapons so Dan2 was armed with fork, what can I say we weren't even close having those weapons.  It turns out a stick has major range advantages over forks and then what we also found out was that forks don't fly like sais that Raphael throws.  So needless to say the pro he would be sad about this unfair stick scenario team had to concede the fight or watch Dan2 get beaten with a stick and that was only funny for a minute or two so eventually we conceded the fight.  Just after we conceded Tim Shaw showed up and man were we sad we didn't put Dan2 through another minute or two of that beating as now we could have taken a stick to town and more!  Could have even take the shoes off their feet without undoing the laces.  But Tim was just too late, it turns out he is now quite the alcoholic so the rest of that night is a little hazy.

Blitz - J-Mac

Yep did some training this week, we practiced defending the money area and only giving up throws to other areas.  We will get that down pat soon.  Peach out!

Slamtown - Mayor

Did you see me the other week I was glorious, some would say Eagle like.  Anyhow, the last week has been busy for Slamtown, we are all getting excited at hosting Gender Blender, I have a slide show that I am preparing of some of the key moments throughout the BPL season that lead to us winning, it will be Slamtastic.

Heroes - Seb

This week the heroes did in fact have a New Girl evening, it ended rather quickly and we decided that our time was better spent enjoying the random hand pull beer and Scratch, a good night was had by all and then a committed few went back and found New Girl much funnier.

Dojo - Adz

This week's game between us and [Insert team name here] showed that if we wish to make it all the way this season we have a lot of work to do.  The wind combined with their zone seemed to stifle every move we made.  We talked about a few changes at half but couldn't seem to implement them on the day, we hope that this is something we learn from moving forward.  [Use this post when your best couple of handlers aren't at the fields and the other team takes advantage of this by killing you with an aggressive zone but you don't want to use that excuse.  Then delete this comment.]

Buggers - Jangles

I have developed a new injury, I don't know how this one developed but I plan on blaming things other then ultimate.  I have received a few offers to squash it with a book, most of these people don't seem to have a very good medical pedigree, this makes me reluctant to accept their offers.  Other news from the team is just that we have bean training down the house and are looking forward to a new season.
