UQ - BW
It is shaping up as a surprisingly hard season to recruit for the UQ boys. A couple of boys graduating has made it tough but surely we should be able to recruit guys as in case you haven't heard I am the MVP.
Blitz - Chris
I don't think that off seasons need a write up so below is something that relates to the season. Instead of an MVP this is a list of the top 10 most influential players in the BPL.
10 - BW: Was great on his team but not able to influence the results in many games.
9 - Matt R: Buggers were a more likely team to win when he participated in games and was a person they rallied around.
8 - Myal: He is overlooked by many people but when he plays well he is always scoring and as a result so are Heroes.
7 - Goose: When he is playing well this frees me up to play other roles (Down field where I belong) and those games seem to be our best results.
6 - Stef: He can control the Slamtown boys' aggression but more importantly for this topic he goes for a quick shot when he can, if they work this can kill the other team.
5 - Man Baby;
4 - Brian:
3 - Troy: These three are tied and simply in this order for age, when they were playing as a stable handler set the Cobras looked untouchable.
2 - Pete A: When he is firing you don't see anyone get near him and those games Dojo win, some might ask why he doesn't do that every week.
1 - Abra: Look at Slamtown at the start of the season when he wasn't playing and the rest of the season.
Buggers - Jangles
This week many of the boys attempted to get out of training but we rounded them up and did a big session of hill sprints through Paddington. Buy the end of the session not many of the boys were still talking to me but given there regime gives them the rest of the week off they'll be fine.
Slamtown - The Mayor
Hey guys there is only one week to ADBUC and I have noticed that many of you haven't put in teams you slack bas$^*ds. I hope you find the time to put them in this week as it is going to be a great weekend. Let me know if you're keen as I should be able to Frankenstein a team together if enough of you show interest.
Heroes - Seb
The good times continued for the Heroes with more planning sessions held at the Scratch this week. The plans are really coming together and we believe in only a couple more planning sessions we will have our off season plan down pat.
Dojo - Ads
This week saw [Insert other teams name] come out firing and get an early upwind break. We clawed our way back into it early in the second half getting a number of turns on their downwind points but when they got a quick conversion on an upwind point it made things much harder. We felt happy with how we played as a team but they adapted to the conditions better. [Use this when you're beaten by a better team but not man enough to admit it publicly, then delete these instructions.]
Cobras - Troy
This week saw the annual Cobras fishing trip, for those of you who haven't followed these in the past there have been a few rippers and some significant outcomes. One of the better trips we went to Martha's Vinyard, we pulled in a real monster, good times. Not all the trips have been that successful we once hired a boat and took it out. We named it the USS Indianapolis and it seems you just shouldn't name a boat that as god hates that name and all boats with that name end up in the same scenario, we had to do significant recruiting after that trip. I could go on all day about the trips of the past but that's not why I'm here this trip is the one that is important for this post, I hate it when people talk about irrelevant rubbish in this blog. The trip this year we decided to keep in Australia and we ventured north to go barramundi fishing, the first few days we couldn't need to catch anything was rated either gold of silver class. It was really disheartening but then we heard about our mates that had gone over to Fraser Island to hunt Dingoes apparently they had been spotted by the locals looking very serious but with little talent for the task and had been promptly put in their place. Anyway back to the trip, we started to catch a few good fish but the two Dans kept going on about how they wanted to go swimming and everyone else would always just respond by pointing out that there were crocodiles in the water. However this was rarely worth it as it just resulted in them having to hear about their favourite show Swamp Men and how those guys would have dived in by now. There are only so many times you can hear about this and well Reece has very little patience so he came up with the plan that we wouldn't point out the crocodiles again. He said it was a plan that Abed had come up with once, I wasn't sure this was true but he's watched more than me so who was I to argue, especially since I liked the plan. So then next time it did happen sure enough everybody was quiet we had to jump on Dave to keep him quiet as he had showed up after the plan was explained. We the Dans didn't hear objections sure enough they went for a swim and sure enough they were attacked by a crocodile, the next part I can't explain with words, they survived but I am still not sure what I saw. The best explanation is this http://imgur.com/UsOtm.gif I know that doesn't answer all the questions on how they survived but it goes closer than words can.
Nice list Chris.
